  • So we beat on, clown cars against the current

"We need to look at fresh ideas.  I don’t have any problem with the Palestinians having a state, but does it need to be within the confines of Israeli territory?  Is that necessary, or can you sort of slip that area down into Egypt?"

"He doesn't stand behind his comments on sliding Palestine down into Egypt," a Carson spokesperson told ABC News. "After all, what would you do with Egypt?  You can't just slip it down into Botswana, since the mountain gorillas would go extinct.  It was a mistake on his part and he clearly wasn't really thinking it through."

"Obamacare is the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery. In a way, it is slavery, because it is making all of us subservient to the government.”

"He does not believe the Affordable Care Act is anything like slavery," a Carson spokesperson told ABC News. "He was rather thinking of Sarah Palin, whose pregnant children are now all subservient to the government."

  • That Ben! He's good for unlimited parody. How did he slip into med school? Why did Johns Hopkins hire him? Why is he running for pres?

    • Yes.  You just never run out of creepy quirks from the good Doctor Ben.  It seems Johns Hopkins and Yale never examined his political beliefs.  There was no reason to.  I assume his medical skills are strong.

  • Candidate buffonery seems to have replaced reality TV.

  • Just watched a documentary about the rivalry between William F. Buckley Jr. and Gore Vidal. It really is fun to see two brilliant minds spar. (And of course, I thought Gore Vidal was the more clever of the two.) It reminded me of the Daily Show when Jon Stewart had Bill O'Reilly as a guest. They brought out the best in each other. I'd never seen O'Reilly be more clever.

    • All right. And presumably Ben Carson could not hold his own against Gore Vidal et al.

Mort Sahl said, "William F Buckley is on the wrong side of every issue of human progress. Who needs this? Golf is better."

  • Ben Carson is a stain on the medical field I think. I don't know how he graduated and how he became a physician.
