another cambrian haiku
Yes, I know, I write too many haikus about extinct 500 million year-old animals. I can't help it.
the walking cactus,
creepy but cute as can be
oh diania
opabinia
he's a five eyed predator,
hungry elephant
dude you're upside down
bye hallucigenia
evolution Failno I don't like him
old anomalocaris,
the famous killer
trilobite survives
for three hundred million years,
now only a husk
Who doesn't love the fauna of the cambrian explosion? The palaeobabbler displays a wonderful collection of soft paleo-toys in her blog.

I never actually wrote cambrian haikus before. This is my first try at haikus of any kind.
is the horseshoe crap a descendant of the trilobite?
I'm kind of fascinated by extinct 500 million-year-old animals. With your haikus and the accompanying images, maybe I will actually be able to keep them straight in my head. I think you should do some more.
@reginasikora - ha ha and once you've memorized all thirty phyla of the cambrian age, how will your life be better? They're extinct, I tell you, gone. It was a great experiment while it lasted.
@RingoBonzai - I don't know. I like to look at these weird creatures the way others might look at Marvel superheroes. Trilobites are arthropods, a phylum that includes insects, scorpions, crabs, and shrimps. They are creepy animals. If you see an arthropod, kill it.
Those are some nice ones.
lol. of course i meant horseshoe crab. too funny.
wow... a curious lot... wonder what would have happened if they survived...
@tribong_upos - ha ha unbridled evolution? Yeah, the five-eyed elephant things would be our masters
I found the hallucigenia haiku particularly endearing, lol
@hot_lil_delinqnt - I find YOU endearing
Gosh! They're creepy and scary and very and very...!!!
@RestlessButterfly - Fortunately they're extinct. I got more of them. I ought to post a 'cambrian Sunday.'
@we_deny_everything - In my eyes they're creepy creatures and scary monsters and I wanna have a nightmare tonight cause' of them.
